With Christmas adverts already starting to sprinkle into our ad breaks and Christmas lights twinkling away we’re into the Christmas spirit early this year so Felix Magazine has compiled a list of this year’s very best London’s Christmas markets.

Mayfair Christmas Market

Christmas marketMayfair Christmas Market is organised by the Novikov bar & restaurant and will see Mayfair Place closed to traffic for two days (Dec 1-2).

Participating stores will stay open later. It’s the ideal market for those looking to buy gifts as luxury stores lining the market and you’ll find fashion, decorations, skincare and more.

Winter Wonderland

Christmas marketWinter Wonderland is set in Hyde Park with everything from ice skating and cirque shows to fairground rides, Christmas food, drinks and shopping galore.

There will be bars and restaurants including The Fire Pit where you can roast marshmallows and Thor’s Tipi Bar where you can snuggle under blankets and drink craft ales, mulled wine and prosecco, alongside a selection of street-food stalls, sweet treats and plenty to drink. Opening on Nov 17, Winter Wonderland is open until News Years Day, expect for Christmas Day.

Christmas By the River

Christmas marketChristmas by the River starts at The Queen’s Walk and ends at The Scoop at More London.

Near London Bridge and the Tower of London, Christmas by the River is packed with one-of-a-kind gifts and has a pop-up bar featuring all the best Christmas treats such as mulled wine and prosecco.

More than 60 independent traders should fulfil any Christmas market desires. Open from Nov 30 to Jan 3, except Christmas Day.

Christmess

Christmas marketChristmess is what happens when a dinner party gone wrong meets Christmas. ‘The Imaginarium’ is set in The Hunter Penrose (a Victorian warehouse in Borough Market).

It opens on  Nov 18 with an abundance of stocking fillers, jewellery, homewares, clothing and accessories. The Imaginarium will also offer coffee from The Ethiopian Coffee Company, cakes and bakes from Luminary bakery, oysters from Oyster Boy and a selection of cheeseboards from Fromage & Friends. The Imaginarium café, bar and market is open Wed-Sun, 11am to 8pm.

Greenwich Wintertime Festival

Christmas market Set in the historic grounds of the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich Wintertime Festival is a Christmas market with added sparkle.

Ice skating performances kick off each morning, afternoon and evening and there’s live music, performers, kids’ shows and a theatre.

There are also stalls, festive food and Christmas drinks. Greenwich Wintertime Festival aims to be a safe and inviting festival which is fun for all the family. Offering an ice rink and a Father Christmas, tickets start at £8 and it’s open from Dec 1-31.

Winterville on Clapham Common

Christmas marketWinterville is held on Clapham Common Nov 23-Jan 1, featuring an ice rink, outside cinema, fairground attractions and Christmas shows.

The food is courtesy of Street Feast which will see some of London’s best street food traders set up shop.

There are also bars, market stalls featuring London’s best independent traders and a host of activities such as bingo, a Christmas show, kids’ raves and a brass band. Some events are ticketed so be sure to book in advance.
