For a Laugh: The Best of #BritishThreatLevels

Terrorist attacks are designed to create fear and hatred but the bombing of Manchester Arena has had a rather different and superbly British effect. As the terrorism threat alert was raised across the country, Brits took to Twitter and got #BritishThreatLevels trending in the best way we know: with self-effacement, sarcasm and wry sentiment about what it really takes to ruffle our feathers

Jeremy Cook’s tweet “We’re British. I don’t get scared until the threat level hits ‘Replacement Bus Service’” started it all and now everyone’s having a go at telling the bastards what really puts the fear of god into us. #Britishthreatlevels has made us smile in a time of sadness and is the best example of how Brits cope with tragedy – with humour and humility. Here are some of Felix’s faves.
