Leading Ethical Shopping in London

Most people try to create healthier habits in the New Year and this tends to focus around eating habits. To practice a balanced lifestyle in more aspects than just diet, why not try ethical shopping with a deeper moral conscious? Ethical and sustainable shopping shouldn’t have to be restrictive and unfashionable. Previously, before veganism became trendy, sustainable fashion used to be seen as “hippy” and ugly. Now, many shops try to accommodate different lifestyles. There is a range of different vegan shopping options around London and also from the UK’s leading online retailers.

ASOS:

ethical shoppingEveryone’s favourite online retailer has recently launched an Eco Edit section. The Eco Edit has a range of different vintage, reclaimed, organic and vegan styles from a selection of well-known and independent brands.

Not only clothing and accessories, ASOS also offers vegan and natural beauty products that’s good for your skin and also your conscious. And with ASOS’s renowned reputation, you know exactly how easy and stress-free it is to buy online.

Doctor Martens

ethical shoppingBritain’s most famous shoe brand has remained popular for many reasons – one of them being keeping up with modern trends. Dr. Martens makes its most popular shoes and boots available in vegan leather and all its shoes have been replaced with vegetarian glue. Recently the brand has also launched unisex bags.

Although the bags are not vegan yet, I have faith that this is the next step for Dr. Martens. Looking cool and comfortable every day while feeling morally sound is now an effortless option.

Matt and Nat

Topshop on Oxford Street has its own Matt and Nat concession where you can see the vegan bags and shoes and look at the incredible and [sometimes] affordable quality.

Matt and Nat is also sold on ASOS under their Eco Edit section.

Stella McCartney

ethical shoppingThe original vegetarian luxury fashion house is bigger and better than ever. Stella McCartney pioneered the vegetarian fashion trend and was given a lot of flack for it before it became a big trend. Although at a premium price tag (to say the least), all the products are of the highest quality and produced to high ethical trade standards in Italy. Stella McCartney has numerous stores around London and the UK, with the brand’s eco-friendly ethos going through to the very core of even the light bulbs and flooring in the stores.

Vegan shopping isn’t hard once you know where to look. There are so many shops in London that there are more options than you realize. Once you start going around the shops and talking to sales assistants and trying on products, you’ll start to appreciate all the different options you have at a range of different price points. There isn’t one shop for one specific look or trend. Start your new year being more eco-conscious!
