Music: Acoustic Gems The Flavour For Felix Fridays #7

Welcome to Felix Fridays #7. This week we decided to give you a soothing mix of acoustic music. It’s easy to forget the power of simplicity found in acoustic music and it can also be difficult to find the perfect selection of tunes.

So, get that glass of red wine ready, step into your garden or on your balcony and lay down gazing at the stars as you will be taken on a magical journey of sound. Listen to our Felix Fridays #7 playlist here: http://spoti.fi/2gtyOfb and don’t forget to add it to your favourites if you enjoy it.

You know the music is good when it’s well delivered acoustically as the singers have nothing but their strings and voice to get to you, no fancy arrangements to hide behind, only bare emotion.

Even if you have never been an ‘acoustic’ person, we are convinced you will find at least a moment of peacefulness.

For this week’s playlist, we have some absolute acoustic classics like Damien Rice’s “The Blower’s or Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love”.

From José Gonzalez’ “Heartbeats” to Elliot Smith’s “Behind the Bard” or Death Cab for Cutie’s “I will follow You Into the Dark”, there will definitely be at least one tune you recognise.

We’re after some real soul tunes for you to get emotional about the remember what great musical artistry is all about.

And while you may not be familiar with Nick Mulvey’s “Fever in the Form” or Ben Howard’s ‘Old Pine’, they will put you right in the acoustic vibe and will probably become classics for you too.

But we also decided to include some lesser known gems in our Felix Fridays #7 playlist like “Oh No, I Tried” by Right Away, Great Captain, Patrick Watson’s “Je te laisserai des mots” and ISLAND’s “Come With Me” and we keep on being surprised on how good a song played acoustic can sound.

Emotive, thought provoking, and brilliant, we also included Lucy Rose’s ‘Shiver’ (which will actually make you shiver) and Daughter’s ‘Youth’, two beautiful tunes that were just perfect for our acoustic playlist.

One thing is certain, Felix Fridays #7 is the perfect playlist for a lazy afternoon or a moment of thought or serenity.

You will rediscover the pleasure of listening to a beautiful voice and a simple arrangement and maybe you will even pick up your guitar and start writing a song, inspired by these great musicians.
