The Ordinary is a new line of skincare that has developed a cult following after less than two years. Why? The founder Brandon Truaxe whom formerly worked for a large cosmetics manufacturer saw the ridiculous profit margins that these companies were making and saw how much change was needed. The Ordinary boasts simple packaging at low prices (most under £10) yet fantastic results.
They offer so many products, but if you are not a skincare expert/scientist deciding on products that will work for you can seem slightly daunting. Below are our favourite products from The Ordinary for each skin type.
Brightening:
In the winter particular, dull skin is an issue many of face. This is an issue that we can develop at any age. The Ordinary contains multiple vitamin C products containing antioxidant properties, which is proven to brighten skin.
- The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone
- Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%
- Vitamin C 23% + HA Spheres 2%
Retinoid:
Retinoids are great for all skin types, containing anti-ageing properties that quickens cell turnover and increases collagen production.
Acne/problem-prone skin:
The Ordinary’s acne products rival that of prescription based creams, the retinoid 2% is the same quantity of retinoids that a doctor would subscribe.
Hydrating:
Another effect of winter is dry skin. Many of us suffer from this problem. For the perfect regime look no further than the products listed below, used together they work excellently to keep your skin hydrated.
- 100% Plant-Derived Squalane
- Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA.
- 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil. Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
