King’s Road is named after King Charles II, as this was his private thoroughfare between Whitehall and Hampton Court Palace. During the swinging 1960s and punk-fuelled 1970s, this area enjoyed its share of lively scenes. Fast forward to the 21st century, this area still retains its cool quotient and is now full of famous faces and some of the best places to eat and shop in London.
